Welcome Message

On behalf of the Jordan Insurance Federation, and in partnership with the General Arab Insurance Federation, it gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

We are honored to host you at the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, as you join us for the 35th General Arab Insurance Federation Conference (GAIF 35), one of the most distinguished and influential gatherings of the insurance industry in the Arab world.

Hosting this prestigious conference in Jordan reflects the strong confidence placed in the Jordanian insurance sector and highlights the advanced position our institutions have achieved at both regional and international levels. It also reaffirms the strength of professional collaboration among Arab insurance markets under the institutional umbrella of the General Arab Insurance Federation, which brings together all Arab states and convenes its conference biennially to foster cooperation, integration, and shared growth.

Jordan’s selection as host follows the continued success of previous GAIF conferences and reinforces the Kingdom’s proven ability to deliver large-scale international events. This capability is founded on solid institutional experience, advanced organizational and logistical infrastructure, and a stable, respected business environment. Since the announcement of the hosting decision, the Jordan Insurance Federation has undertaken comprehensive organizational and technical preparations, including the formation of specialized committees and close coordination with the GAIF Secretariat and all relevant stakeholders, to ensure a conference of the highest professional standards.

A comprehensive promotional strategy has also been implemented to showcase the Jordanian insurance market as a dynamic and forward-looking hub, and to attract wide participation from across the Arab region and the global insurance community. This approach further strengthens the conference’s professional value and reinforces its standing as a leading regional and international platform for the insurance industry.

GAIF 35 is expected to welcome between 2,000 –2,500 participants, including senior executives, policymakers, industry experts, and representatives of leading global reinsurance companies. This exceptional level of participation will provide a valuable forum for knowledge exchange, discussion of emerging trends, and constructive dialogue on current and future challenges, as well as the presentation of innovative insurance solutions that support the sustainable growth and global competitiveness of Arab insurance markets.

As we extend our warm welcome to our distinguished guests from around the world, we look forward to this conference serving as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue, expanded cooperation, and the development of long-term strategic partnerships that advance the Arab insurance industry and strengthen its contribution to national economies and sustainable development.

Welcome to Jordan, the land of history, stability, and hospitality. We wish you a rewarding stay and a highly successful conference that meets the aspirations of all participants and marks another milestone in the journey of the General Arab Insurance Federation and the Arab insurance industry.

Welcome Message

Back to Principles

It is our great pleasure to welcome the esteemed guests of the General Arab Insurance Federation and the Jordan Insurance Federation to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

This 35th Conference comes at a moment when the Arab region is navigating a critical phase of political instability,  that continues to weigh heavily on the pace of economic growth. Yet, despite the difficulties confronting several of our countries, the Arab insurance industry has shown remarkable resilience, adaptability, and capacity for development.

Most Arab markets—if not the vast majority—continue to achieve annual growth rates of no less than 5%, outpacing general economic growth and steadily increasing the sector’s contribution to Arab GDP. While this contribution remains below our collective aspirations, much hope is placed on the insurance industry as a fundamental channel for savings and a driver of economic development.

Today’s world presents a constellation of challenges that the Arab insurance sector cannot ignore; rather, it must transform them into opportunities. The most significant of these challenges include:

  • Geopolitical tensions
  • Natural catastrophes
  • Cyber risk
  • Longevity associated with rising demand for medical care

Although our industry cannot change these realities, it can mitigate their impact by designing products that reduce the severity of such risks and by extending financial inclusion to reach the largest possible segment of society—particularly vulnerable groups.

We have chosen “Back to Principles” as the theme of this conference because we firmly believe that our industry is anchored by foundational principles that must never be compromised. These principles may be summarized as follows:

  • Fair and technically sound pricing;
  • Utmost good faith;
  • Protecting people and property;
  • Expanding the financial inclusion.

These principles—long upheld by all of us as professionals—are more essential today than ever before. Competition cannot justify everything, especially price-driven competition. Insurance companies must embrace their social and corporate responsibility; and not only seek profit, but operate within a broader economic vision aimed at reducing the impacts of climate change, protecting assets from emerging risks, and preparing for the uncertainties of tomorrow.

Your strong presence at the GAIF’s 35th Conference is, in itself, a testament to its importance and a guarantee of its success. This gathering will be an invaluable opportunity to engage with the full spectrum of stakeholders across the Arab and global insurance industry.

Let us work together to make the 35th Conference a true platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and—above all—business growth.

Once again, we welcome you to the 35th Conference of the General Arab Insurance Federation.

And we welcome you to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan—the land of generosity.

Chakib Abouzaid

Secretary General, GAIF

إطلاق تطبيق GAIF2026 لتنظيم مشاركة ما يصل إلى 2000 خبير ومسؤول في مؤتمر التأمين العربي
GAIF2026 app launched ahead of major Arab insurance gathering at Dead Sea

Organisers of the 35th General Conference of the General Arab Insurance Federation have launched the GAIF2026 mobile application to help participants plan their attendance, arrange business meetings and follow conference updates.

The Kingdom of Jordan will host the Arab Insurance General  Conference organised conjointly by the General Arab Insurance Federation and the Jordan Insurance Federat, at the Dead Sea from October 4 to 7, 2026.

Around 2,000 senior executives, policymakers, regulators, experts and representatives of international insurance and reinsurance companies are expected to attend from 44 countries, including 21 Arab and 23 non-Arab countries, placing the event among the region’s largest specialised insurance gatherings.

The three-day professional programme will feature five main sessions examining the challenges reshaping the insurance industry, from digital transformation and emerging risks to artificial intelligence and new risk-transfer instruments.

Discussions will explore how the industry can preserve its core principles while adapting to digitalisation, as well as approaches to modelling and underwriting emerging risks. Speakers will also address the role of parametric insurance in responding to catastrophes.

Other sessions will focus on the use of actuarial expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning, in addition to catastrophe bonds, alternative capital and other modern risk-transfer tools.

The GAIF2026 app gives participants access to the conference programme, session schedules, speaker profiles and information about participating organisations, partners and sponsors. It also provides real-time announcements and allows users to synchronise conference appointments with their mobile calendars.

A key feature is the Meeting Hub, which enables participants to identify potential business contacts, send meeting requests and manage their schedules before arriving at the Dead Sea. Users can accept, decline or reschedule invitations and receive notifications and reminders.

The service is designed to help participants make better use of the conference by arriving with prearranged meetings and clearly defined business priorities. Messaging features will remain available before, during and after the event, allowing professional discussions and contacts to continue beyond the conference.

The app also allows users to manage their registration details, personal profiles and QR codes, as well as participate in surveys and submit feedback.

GAIF2026 is available on the App Store and Google Play. Organisers have encouraged participants to download the app early, complete their profiles and begin arranging meetings ahead of the conference.

For further information and to download the app, visit https://gaif2026.com/app.
