On behalf of the Jordan Insurance Federation, and in partnership with the General Arab Insurance Federation, it gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
We are honored to host you at the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, as you join us for the 35th General Arab Insurance Federation Conference (GAIF 35), one of the most distinguished and influential gatherings of the insurance industry in the Arab world.
Hosting this prestigious conference in Jordan reflects the strong confidence placed in the Jordanian insurance sector and highlights the advanced position our institutions have achieved at both regional and international levels. It also reaffirms the strength of professional collaboration among Arab insurance markets under the institutional umbrella of the General Arab Insurance Federation, which brings together all Arab states and convenes its conference biennially to foster cooperation, integration, and shared growth.
Jordan’s selection as host follows the continued success of previous GAIF conferences and reinforces the Kingdom’s proven ability to deliver large-scale international events. This capability is founded on solid institutional experience, advanced organizational and logistical infrastructure, and a stable, respected business environment. Since the announcement of the hosting decision, the Jordan Insurance Federation has undertaken comprehensive organizational and technical preparations, including the formation of specialized committees and close coordination with the GAIF Secretariat and all relevant stakeholders, to ensure a conference of the highest professional standards.
A comprehensive promotional strategy has also been implemented to showcase the Jordanian insurance market as a dynamic and forward-looking hub, and to attract wide participation from across the Arab region and the global insurance community. This approach further strengthens the conference’s professional value and reinforces its standing as a leading regional and international platform for the insurance industry.
GAIF 35 is expected to welcome between 2,000 –2,500 participants, including senior executives, policymakers, industry experts, and representatives of leading global reinsurance companies. This exceptional level of participation will provide a valuable forum for knowledge exchange, discussion of emerging trends, and constructive dialogue on current and future challenges, as well as the presentation of innovative insurance solutions that support the sustainable growth and global competitiveness of Arab insurance markets.
As we extend our warm welcome to our distinguished guests from around the world, we look forward to this conference serving as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue, expanded cooperation, and the development of long-term strategic partnerships that advance the Arab insurance industry and strengthen its contribution to national economies and sustainable development.
Welcome to Jordan, the land of history, stability, and hospitality. We wish you a rewarding stay and a highly successful conference that meets the aspirations of all participants and marks another milestone in the journey of the General Arab Insurance Federation and the Arab insurance industry.

Back to Principles
It is our great pleasure to welcome the esteemed guests of the General Arab Insurance Federation and the Jordan Insurance Federation to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
This 35th Conference comes at a moment when the Arab region is navigating a critical phase of political instability, that continues to weigh heavily on the pace of economic growth. Yet, despite the difficulties confronting several of our countries, the Arab insurance industry has shown remarkable resilience, adaptability, and capacity for development.
Most Arab markets—if not the vast majority—continue to achieve annual growth rates of no less than 5%, outpacing general economic growth and steadily increasing the sector’s contribution to Arab GDP. While this contribution remains below our collective aspirations, much hope is placed on the insurance industry as a fundamental channel for savings and a driver of economic development.
Today’s world presents a constellation of challenges that the Arab insurance sector cannot ignore; rather, it must transform them into opportunities. The most significant of these challenges include:
Although our industry cannot change these realities, it can mitigate their impact by designing products that reduce the severity of such risks and by extending financial inclusion to reach the largest possible segment of society—particularly vulnerable groups.
We have chosen “Back to Principles” as the theme of this conference because we firmly believe that our industry is anchored by foundational principles that must never be compromised. These principles may be summarized as follows:
These principles—long upheld by all of us as professionals—are more essential today than ever before. Competition cannot justify everything, especially price-driven competition. Insurance companies must embrace their social and corporate responsibility; and not only seek profit, but operate within a broader economic vision aimed at reducing the impacts of climate change, protecting assets from emerging risks, and preparing for the uncertainties of tomorrow.
Your strong presence at the GAIF’s 35th Conference is, in itself, a testament to its importance and a guarantee of its success. This gathering will be an invaluable opportunity to engage with the full spectrum of stakeholders across the Arab and global insurance industry.
Let us work together to make the 35th Conference a true platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and—above all—business growth.
Once again, we welcome you to the 35th Conference of the General Arab Insurance Federation.
And we welcome you to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan—the land of generosity.
Chakib Abouzaid
Secretary General, GAIF
